So at first I hoped that team USA would get their tales whooped in the World Cup.  I saw the fact that we even assembled a team to be a humanitarian effort.  Let's face it, in the US, real athletes play football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, or hockey.  In Europe, people actually like an play soccer.  So I thought it was great that we put these former waterboys and equipment managers lower tier athletes against the worlds best.  Since the rest of the world hates us and is always trying to beat us, I thought we might as well throw them a bone and have their little victory.  

Use this team as sacrificial lambs or whipping boys to appease the masses.  

Now that team USA is actually doing well, I have changed my tune!

Seeing the team succeed is welling me up with patriotism I have never known.  Since when is it up to us to make the rest of the world feel better?  I say go you waterboys! Go and crush the rest of the world at their silly little live-action fuseball game and let them know that they can't even beat the worst of America's athletes!
