New Closer help close with win against Twins?
Jun 23rd, 2010, 2:29pm

Brewers continue their series at home tonight against the Minnesota Twins. Manager Ken Macha feels good with the decision that pitcher Trevor Hoffman will replace current closer John Axford.

Axford began the series against the Twins a perfect 4-for-4 in save opportunities. Hoffman's most recent appearance was a scoreless eighth inning during a 1-1 ballgame on Sunday in Colorado, and lead to the Brewer's 6-1 victory. This was Hoffman's fifth consecutive scoreless appearance.

Closer, schmoser! Mike's gotta feeling, we could run that gascan Turnbow out there right now! And Randy Wolf is a "summer pitcher" according to Heller. OK, to Mike's credit, he was good last summer. However, his 3 worst months in his career ERA wise - August, June then July. Worst 3 in WHIP - August , June, July.  Also, he sits at 4.79 this year whereas last year after 15 games he was at 3.29. But, who needs trends when you got a feeling! Go Brewers!
